The book was written to explain quantum physics and what it means in the most accessible way possible. There are some simple, cheap experiments to do to keep you grounded in reality. They are also fun!
The book is virtually mathematics free.
However, physics is still a difficult subject. Einstein got it wrong. So what chance do we stand? I think there is a way that works. I hope you agree when you read this book.
You don’t have to be a physicist – reviewers with no physics have enjoyed this book. But some bits are tough – photons really do go through two slits at once! There’s no getting away from that. If you are studying physics, then this is the book that I honestly wish had existed when I set out. That’s why I wrote it. It doesn’t do a deep dive into mathematics. It’s not “shut-up and calculate”. It encourages you to think, to philosophize. It is not a substitute for a standard text on quantum physics, but rather complements one.
If you are not a physicist but you enjoy thinking about the big questions: parallel universes, Schrödinger’s cat etc., then I hope you enjoy this book.
